OPPORTUNITY
The Part-time Teacher Instructional Coach will play a critical role in partnering with teachers to ensure effective student-centered instruction and increase student achievement. This position requires a deep commitment to access to an empowering education, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making aligned with school and district instructional improvement priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional leadership and coaching skills, expertise in K-12 Math, and a passion for student achievement by supporting the professional growth of educators. The Part-time Teacher Instructional Coach will report to the MD, Partner Experience and Impact, and work alongside peer coaches.
This is a fixed-term W2 role, and is anticipated to work 10-15 hours per week. Hours may vary slightly based on partner needs, coaching cadence, and school schedules. Renewal of the role aligns with district renewals, scope of work, and organizational priorities.
TRAVEL
This role requires frequent travel to Camden City schools. The DSS should expect to spend approximately 50% of their time on site in schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a K - 12 Math instructional coach for teachers
- Provide direct instructional coaching to teachers aligned to subject matter, school, and district priorities
- Collaborate with school leaders to set instructional practice goals and develop strategies to enhance student-centered instruction and student achievement
- Engage stakeholders to address school priorities, analyze school data, and develop comprehensive support plans promoting excellent educational opportunities and inclusion for all students
- Use research-based practices and student data to develop an individualized strategy for coaching teachers, tailored to their unique needs and context
- Train teachers on effective implementation of curriculum and other resources to achieve student mastery of grade-level content and improve teacher practice
- Design and lead professional development sessions for groups of teachers, focusing on instructional best practices, data analysis, and student-centered teaching strategies
- Codify tools, coaching strategies, and innovative ideas that improve ANet's ability to coach teachers and support student achievement
- Document progress notes, plans, and deliverables in accordance with ANet and partner-determined guidelines
COMPETENCIES
- Critical Thinking and Data Orientation: Ability to think critically, analyze complex data sets, and develop innovative solutions to systemic instructional challenges.
- Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various professional audiences. Experience building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in Area of Focus: Experience supporting and/or implementing curriculum
- Has been in a school as a teacher leader or instructional coach in the past three years in K-12 Math; professional development facilitation and student-centered teaching practices
- Minimum 5 years of K-12 Math teaching experience with evidence of impact on student learning including supporting multilingual learners and students with IEPs
- Minimum 3 years of instructional coaching or teacher leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Preferred skills:
- Experience teaching and/or implementing Eureka Math curriculum
- Experience leveraging technology in the classroom (e.g. Google Classroom, Class Dojo, ChatGPT, etc.)
COMPENSATION
The hourly salary for this position is $59.19. This position is non-exempt and therefore eligible for overtime pay, which requires advanced approval, in accordance with applicable laws. In order to uphold our commitment to transparent, equitable, competitive, and sustainable compensation, ANet does not negotiate pay.
