OPPORTUNITY
The Part-time Teacher Instructional Coach will play a critical role in partnering with teachers to ensure effective student-centered instruction and increase student achievement. This position requires a deep commitment to access to an empowering education, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making aligned with school and district instructional improvement priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional leadership and coaching skills, expertise in K-12 Math, and a passion for student achievement by supporting the professional growth of educators. The Part-time Teacher Instructional Coach will report to the Coaching Impact Lead and work alongside peer coaches.
TRAVEL
This role requires frequent travel to Detroit partner schools. On average, you can anticipate up to 10 travel days per month, which will fluctuate based on your portfolio of partner schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a K - 12 Math instructional coach for teachers
- Provide direct instructional coaching to teachers aligned to subject matter, school, and district priorities
- Collaborate with school leaders to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance student-centered instruction and student achievement
- Engage stakeholders to address school priorities, analyze school data, and develop comprehensive support plans promoting excellent educational opportunities and inclusion for all students
- Use research-based practices and student data to develop an individualized strategy for coaching teachers, tailored to their unique needs and context
- Train teachers on effective implementation of curriculum and other resources to achieve student mastery of grade-level content and improve teacher practice
- Design and lead professional development sessions for groups of teachers, focusing on instructional best practices, data analysis, and student-centered teaching strategies
- Codify tools, coaching strategies, and innovative ideas that improve ANet's ability to coach teachers and support student achievement
- Document progress notes, plans, and deliverables in accordance with ANet and partner-determined guidelines
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Has been in a school as a teacher leader or instructional coach in the past three years in K-12 Math; professional development facilitation and student-centered teaching practices
- Minimum 5 years of K-12 Math teaching experience with evidence of impact on student learning including supporting multilingual learners and students with IEPs
- Minimum 3 years of instructional coaching or teacher leadership
- Experience supporting and/or implementing curriculum
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically, analyze data, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Experience building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
Preferred skills:
- Experience teaching and/or implementing Eureka Squared Math curriculum
- Experience leveraging technology in the classroom (e.g. Google Classroom, Class Dojo, ChatGPT, etc.)

The salary range for this position is between $80,376-$120,564. New hires will start between the range minimum and midpoint ($80,376-$100,470) based on qualifications assessed during the hiring process, past experience, and internal equity. The salary will be prorated according to the temporary, part-time status.
