OPPORTUNITY
ANet is seeking an innovative and results-driven Vice President of Marketing to lead our efforts during a crucial phase of product evolution. As a key member of the Growth & Partnerships Team, the VP of Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping ANet’s brand, driving demand for our new assessment suite, and amplifying our field presence through compelling storytelling, market insights, and strategic go-to-market initiatives.
This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the national conversation around assessments and instructional coherence. The VP of Marketing will elevate ANet’s work, blending powerful narratives with data-driven case studies, implementation insights, and emerging trends in student learning progress to both educate the field and propel the market forward.
This role is ideal for a senior marketing executive who excels at the intersection of brand leadership, data-driven insight generation, and mission-focused influence, with a passion for making an impact in education.
TRAVEL

RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of ANet’s marketing strategy across brand, product, and partner communications.
- Own end-to-end product marketing strategy—from launch to maturity—for our assessment suite and future offerings.
- Partner with Product, Implementation Success, and Sales to ensure messaging reflects evolving features, implementation insights, and impact data.
- Design and execute marketing plans that align with growth targets and inspire engagement from new and existing partners.
- Maintain a pulse on competitor activity, policy developments, and system-level priorities in ANet’s core markets.
- Use market intelligence to inform product positioning, messaging strategy, and responsive communications.
- Serve as a thought partner to senior leaders on how ANet shows up in a shifting educational landscape.
Demand Generation & Lead Development
- Build and manage campaigns that generate qualified inbound leads from district, school, and state leaders.
- Align closely with Sales and Revenue Strategy to ensure marketing drives pipeline growth, using analytics to optimize conversion and engagement.
- Provide visibility into top-of-funnel trends and segmentation insights to support revenue forecasting and strategic planning.
- Own top-of-funnel growth metrics and continuously iterate based on performance and market feedback.
- Support strategic prospect cultivation through targeted content, thought leadership, convenings, and campaign-based outreach.
- Develop marketing tools and moments that strengthen ANet’s value proposition and accelerate relationship-building with prospective partners.
Insights, Storytelling & Market Influence
- Shape ANet’s presence in field discourse through thought leadership, publications, and coalition engagement.
- Translate internal analytics, partner outcomes, case studies, and student learning data into compelling public-facing stories and campaigns.
- Share narratives that reflect ANet’s values and measurable results while positioning our work within national conversations on assessment, equity, and instructional coherence.
- Build systems to gather and synthesize implementation insights, learning data, and partner feedback into usable knowledge for both internal and external audiences.
- Lead the team to surface patterns and insights that advance ANet’s strategic positioning and inform the field.
- Ensure marketing amplifies the learning happening within ANet in ways that are timely, trusted, and instructive to system leaders navigating similar challenges.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and coach a high-performing marketing team across content, external insights, and marketing functions.
- Foster an inclusive, equity-driven team culture that emphasizes learning, creativity, and results.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure cohesion in voice, strategy, and execution.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of marketing experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing brand, product marketing, or demand generation
- Deep knowledge of the K–12 education landscape, including how system and district leaders make decisions
- Demonstrated success leading go-to-market strategies and multi-channel campaigns that drive adoption and brand engagement
- Strong writing, messaging, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex ideas and data into clear, compelling narratives
- Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional collaboration in a mission-driven organization
- A track record of driving lead generation and supporting successful partnership development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with edtech market including assessment tools, instructional products, or professional learning services
- Background in nonprofit or hybrid (philanthropic/commercial) environments
- Familiarity with RFP responses, convenings, and thought leadership as cultivation tools
- Experience using marketing insights to support revenue forecasting and strategic segmentation

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is between $145,350 - $242,350. New hires will start between the range minimum and midpoint ($145,350 - $193,800) based on qualifications assessed during the hiring process, past experience, and internal equity.
