OPPORTUNITY
The Part-Time Instructional Coach (ELA) supports partner schools in strengthening instructional practice, deepening use of high-quality materials, and improving outcomes for students. This role is ideal for experienced high school ELA educators or instructional leaders who want to contribute meaningfully on a flexible schedule.
This is a fixed-term W2 role, scoped intentionally at 15 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on partner needs, coaching cadence, and school schedules. Renewal of this role is based on district renewals, scope of work, and organizational priorities.
TRAVEL
This role requires regular, in-person coaching at partner schools estimated at every other week. During on-site coaching weeks, coaches are typically in schools approximately five days per week. Travel needs may vary based on the assigned school portfolio and scheduling requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide High-Quality High School ELA Instructional Coaching
- Deliver direct instructional coaching aligned to high school ELA content
- Support teachers in planning and reflecting on rigorous, student-centered instruction
- Model instructional strategies and support use of high-quality instructional materials
- Engage teachers in culturally responsive coaching that centers equity and student learning
- Support strategies for multilingual learners and students receiving special education services
Use Data to Guide Action
- Analyze student work and assessment data to surface trends
- Support teams in identifying instructional gaps and planning adjustments
- Ground coaching feedback in evidence and standards alignment
- Maintain accurate coaching notes, plans, and partner documentation
- Share insights and tools that strengthen overall coaching practice
- Contribute to internal learning and improvement cycles
In order to be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:
Experience & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- 5+ years of high school ELA/literacy teaching experience with demonstrated student impact
- 3+ years of instructional coaching or teacher leadership experience
- Strong content knowledge in ELA standards, literature, writing instruction, and discourse
COMPETENCIES
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Skill in facilitating adult learning and instructional improvement
- Ability to analyze and interpret instructional and assessment data
- High bar for follow-through, organization, and independent work
Preferred skills:
- Experience implementing Eureka Squared
- Experience supporting multilingual learners and students with IEPs
- Comfort with tools such as Google Suite, learning platforms, and virtual facilitation
COMPENSATION
ANet uses a transparent, non-negotiated hourly pay structure for part-time coaching roles.
Hourly Rate Range: 55.00 – $59.19/hour

Because this role includes direct instructional coaching and partnership work, candidates must disclose any current consulting, contracting, or employment with organizations that provide instructional coaching, curriculum implementation support, or similar services to schools or districts. ANet reviews outside work to ensure there is no conflict of interest with core services or partner relationships. Individuals currently contracting with organizations that are in direct competition with ANet may not be eligible for this role.
